UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar”

Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view (PPV)
Location: MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada
It's the biggest fight in mixed martial arts history! 3-time UFC Heavyweight Champ Randy "The Natural" Couture
returns to the Octagon and puts his title on the line against the biggest opponent of his career, wrestling
powerhouse Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 15.
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 middleweight winner, Amir Sadollah (1-0), is expected to return to the
Octagon against Nick Catone (5-0).
Kenny Florian recently confirmed that he would be fighting Joe “Daddy” Stevenson at UFC 91. Joe Stevenson (34-8)
is a very tough competitor. His experience, wrestling abilities, submission skills and improved stand-up game,
make him a dangerous opponent for Kenny Florian.
PRELIMINARY CARD (UN-TELEVISED)
The Ultimate Fighter 7 cast member Matt Riddle (1-0) will take on Ryan Thomas (9-2) in a middleweight matchup.
Riddle made his professional mixed martial arts and UFC debut in June at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale,
defeating Dante Rivera via unanimous decision.
Thomas had won four-straight bouts before losing to Ben Saunders via second-round submission in his UFC
debut at UFC 87 in August.
Lightweights Jorge Gurgel (12-4) and Aaron Riley (24-10-1) will square off in a Preliminary non televised fight.
After earning "Fight of the Night" honors for his unanimous decision win over Diego Saraiva at UFC 73 last July,
Gurgel, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 2, has dropped two of his last
three fights, sandwiching a win over John Halverson with losses to Alvin Robinson and Cole Miller.
Riley returns to the UFC after being out of the octagon for nearly three years, last appearing at UFC Fight
Night 3 in early-2006 losing to Spencer Fisher. After leaving, Riley lost back-to-back matchups with notables
Eddie Alvarez and Ryan Schultz, but most-recently earned unanimous decision victories over Thiago Minu and
Steve Claveau.
UFC president Dana White has stated that he expects over a million buys for UFC 91, and with a stacked lineup it
could easily do that. The MMA News will keep you up to date on UFC 91.
