UFC 100

Location: Las Vegas, Nev.
Venue: Mandalay Bay Events Center
Broadcast: Pay per view
The UFC has pulled out all the stops to put together an incredible card, including two title fights, for UFC 100.
Las Vegas will feature a stunning double Heavyweight-Welterweight fight card; Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will clash once again to decide who is truly the greatest of them all, in what is expected to be a UFC schedule-headliner. The UFC Heavyweight titles will be unified for the winner of this bout, with interim champ Mir aiming to keep Lesnar at bay, but anything could happen.
Heavyweights Lesnar and Mir were originally scheduled to face off at UFC 98 on May 23 in Las Vegas, but Mir withdrew from the bout to recover from knee surgery.
The hulking Lesnar (3-1) toppled former champion Randy Couture with a second-round technical knockout at UFC 91 last November to seize the title in only his fourth career bout.
Mir, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, stopped former Pride champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira with strikes in the second round at UFC 92 in December to earn the interim gold. Mir submitted Lesnar with a kneebar in 90 seconds during their first encounter at UFC 81 in February 2008.
One of the top athletes in the UFC, welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre puts his belt on the line against Thiago “Pitbull” Alves and Ultimate Fighter: U.S. vs U.K. coaches Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping square off in a pivotal middleweight showdown. This will be an incredible evening of great fights!
Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
In the ufc 100 co-main event, Georges St-Pierre (18-2 MMA, 12-2 UFC) will be defending his belt against Thiago Alves in a fight where the combine record is a staggering 40 wins with 6 losses. The last time either of them lost was 12 fights ago.
St. Pierre last defended his title in decisive fashion over UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn (13-5-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) in a rematch of their 2006 clash. St. Pierre dominated Penn for four straight rounds. Penn acknowledged that he had sustained such abuse that he was more than likely knocked out on his feet after the second round. His corner threw in the towel at the end of round four to save the Hawaiian from further punishment.
Alves, 25, has established himself as one of the welterweight division’s most deadly strikers. He has won seven in a row, including commanding victories over former champion Matt Hughes and top-10 contender Josh Koscheck in 2008.
UFC 100 Results
